Overall, I had a pretty good weekend at Sandown. It was a bit of a difficult weekend to depict our true speed as the races were quite short and a few incidents cut some sessions short.
Friday, I rolled out pretty strong – I was mid-pack for practice and then managed to pull out fourth for qualifying, which is exactly what I was hoping for; a strong qualifying result. I managed to stay consistent heading into Saturday’s two races and finished up 4th for both races. The car felt really good, I just needed to find a bit more speed to pick off a few more positions.
Come Sunday I was really confident and hopeful of coming away with a top 5, unfortunately though John Iafolla had a massive crash, making the final race a non-event. Just glad that John was able to walk away!
A big thanks to the crew though for providing a fast car! I think all the extra laps I’ve been doing this season is starting to pay off. Also, a huge thank you to all of my sponsors for their on-going support.
Looking forward to getting to Newcastle, I love this track.
