Jaylyn Robotham – Toyota 86 Series – Sandown 500

Three weekends and three different cars!! It’s certainly been a busy few weeks. I’m really looking forward to getting back into the Toyota 86 this weekend though.

I’m no stranger to Sandown Raceway, last year was my first-year racing there in the 86, however prior to that I had done quite a few laps there in the excel. I even held the lap record in the excel there too!

Last year I didn’t do too bad, I managed to keep within the top ten which I’ll be looking to do again this weekend. Possibly even sidling into the top five would be great. It’ll be interesting to see how the weather plays out, it’s usually pretty wet when we race at Sandown.

This circuit is pretty demanding and aggressive. It’s a track that you have to tackle confidently, you can’t really be soft and it’s important to go over the curbs hard. I do like this round though, especially with the Supercars retro liveries! It’s always cool to see what the teams come up with and also has a fun atmosphere!

It’s the second to last round, so here’s hoping we can have a great weekend and bag some more points.

I hit the track for practice 1 on Friday 8th November at 8:05am.
