Just like that, the season is over for another year! I had a relatively good weekend at Newcastle and have a lot of positives to take away from the year.
I do enjoy the Newcastle circuit a lot. Qualifying is key and ultimately, that is probably what let me down a little. Friday’s two practice sessions I rolled out with a P4 and P9. Unfortunately, I clipped a wall in qualifying which caused an ABS fault and had to settle for 19th.
This meant that I started from the rear of the grid for the race. Thankfully I was able to pick up a few positions and managed to bring it home in 10th, which is where I would start for race 2 on Sunday. I was able to continue the momentum and gained some more spots during race 2 and went from 10th to 7th, which I was pretty happy with.
I am glad I was able to finish off the weekend on a positive note and took away 4th in the final race of the season. Ultimately, I finished 6th in the Championship – which I’m happy with.
A big thanks to all of my crew, sponsors and supporters for your on-going support this year! I wouldn’t be here without you all, so thank you!
